Pimpri- Chinchwad Twin Municipal Township of Pune is a well-known geographical destination to one and all. Chinchwad is a sacred and a blessed birthplace of great sadhu Morya Gosavi, and patriots like the Chaphekar brothers.
On 8th September,1927 Jain religious Muni, Parampujya Premrajji Ma.Sa. inaugurated J.V.P.M.- Shri Jain Vidya Prasarak Mandal, an Educational Trust for the poor and working-class students of the P.C.M.C. area.
The late Hon. Gen. Sec., Shri. Shankarlal Jogidasji Mutha had a lion’s share in the vast development of the various institutes of the J.V.P.M Trust. Turning stones into beautiful pebbles, is how, the educational development of batches of students who have passed out from J.V.P.M can be envisaged.
Eminent members of the Jain community, such as late philanthropist Shri. Rasiklalaji Manikchandji Dhariwal and many other well-known people of the community, established a strong team of go – getters and many a great success achieved; laurels won; new institutes have been set up.
Many of the ex- students are recipients of many awards; have gained coveted designations in various government offices; few have turned out to be well known politicians; advocates; doctors; sportsmen; cultural ambassadors etc.
The present developed stature of J.V.P.M is thanks to the voluminous work done by these stalwarts. The good work is being continued by the next generation of well qualified and experienced personalities
